Irish pick up Texas WR
Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider wide receiver David Nelson made one last unofficial visit and then decided to end the recruiting process.
“David did commit to Notre Dame yesterday,” Nelson’s father said. “I gave him the go ahead to give them the word since he was comfortable and knew he was going there. I went up there and got the chance to see the school and the facilities and we were comfortable with everything.

“David called Coach (Tyrone) Willingham and gave him the news and the assistant coaches too.”
Nelson had planned to visit Kansas State this weekend following his trip to South Bend, but the trip to Manhattan was not necessary.
“We came home straight from Notre Dame,” the elder Nelson said. “He was comfortable with what he saw and we talked about it when we got home. There was no need to go anywhere else this weekend.”
