Irish or Aggies for Texas athlete

The Woodlands, Texas athlete Samson Taylor took just two official visits, both in January, before making his decision.
“Samson wanted to wait until today to make his decision known,” The Woodlands coach Weldon Willig said. “He narrowed it down to Notre Dame and Texas A&M. Those were the only two schools he visited.”

The 6-foot, 212-pound Taylor visited with both coaches about his decision last week.
“He is going to sign with Texas A&M today,” the coach said. “He notified both schools last week of his decision so they could make whatever arrangements they needed to based on his decision.
“I think being close to home was a part of the decision. He also thought there may be an opportunity to play quicker at A&M. They had the one player leave their program, the Farmer kid. That kind of moved Samson up the depth chart a little bit and that was something he liked.”
