Irish offer Cooper

Chicago Julian defensive end Demetrius Cooper continued his hot streak on Friday, picking up his fourth offer in the last week. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Cooper's latest offer comes from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
"I was at their camp and they were really impressed with me," Cooper said. "They just liked what I did, so they gave me the offer.

"I was working with Coach [Mike] Elston and Coach [Bob] Diaco. I worked at linebacker today and they are recruiting me as an outside linebacker. They run a 3-4 and their defensive ends are 290 or 300 pounds. Their linebackers are 250 pounds."
The offer from Notre Dame followed offers earlier this week from Michigan State, Purdue and Toledo. Although Cooper does not have any favorite schools, his close proximity to South Bend has given him an appreciation for Notre Dame.
"This is pretty big," Cooper said. "It's another BCS school and one of the schools I like. I followed them my sophomore year and junior year."
After camping at Purdue, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Toledo in the last week, Cooper is going to wind things down in the near future. He did not rule out attending another college's camp, but does not have any planned at this time.
There is no expectation of an immediate commitment after the recent string of offers. Cooper plans to let the events of the last few weeks sink in and begin evaluating each of his offers.
"I'm not going to rush my options and right now I am open to any school," Cooper said. "My decision is probably going to be the end of August or beginning of September."
