Irish lead for Texas DE

Dallas (Texas) Jesuit defensive end Sean Carney has a long list of schools sending him mail, but he has narrowed the list down a little bit already.
“There is a long list of them,” the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Carney said of the schools he is hearing from. “But, I kind of have a few that I am more interested in right now.”

Those few include Notre Dame, Stanford, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue and SMU.
“I really like Notre Dame,” he said. “They are a school I have kind of grown up watching and hearing a lot about. They have been sending me a lot of hand written letters and stuff about their camp this summer.”
Carney plans on taking in the camp at South Bend this summer.
“I’ll go to Notre Dame’s camp. I’m also looking at the NIKE camp in College Station and also the Texas camp during the summer. Those are the ones kind of on my mind right now.”
As a junior, Jesuit compiled a 5-6 record while playing a tough schedule.
“We played Rockhurst who had Tony Temple and a couple other private schools like that. Then we played some of the better schools in this area down here.”
On the season, Carney finished with 49 tackles, including 20 for losses, and eight quarterback sacks.
