Iowa State offers Dowell brothers

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward's Andrew Dowell and David Dowell are both four-star prospects, but because they play different positions their offer lists are not identical. Iowa State, however, did offer the pair Sunday night.
"They offered us both," David Dowell confirmed. "We talked to the running backs coach. He is really excited about us and we are really excited about [Iowa State].

"He basically said their staff wanted both of us and liked both of us individually. They feel like I can play either side of the football, and they like that Andrew can come in and be in the lead for their starting role at running back right away."
The interest from Iowa State just began in the last few weeks. The Dowell brothers are not overly familiar with the program but do have a connection to the state of Iowa.
"We already talked with our dad about a visit because my grandmother lives in Iowa," David said. "She lives two hours outside of the University, so I can visit her and then we'll go see the University probably this spring. I don't know much about it, so that's one of the main reasons we want to go out there."
The offer from Iowa State is offer No. 13 for the 6-foot-1, 185-pound David Dowell, an athlete prospect who could play wide receiver or defensive back in college.
Because he is a running back, the 6-foot, 200-pound Andrew holds fewer offers than his brother but is closing in on a double-digit total himself. Both brothers have thus far taken all their recruiting visits together.
"We were going to go to Indiana [Sunday], but because the weather was bad we had to cancel that," David said. "We don't have anything else planned yet. I want to get to Purdue, back to Indiana and any of the schools that have offered me."
Andrew Dowell is ranked as the No. 25 running back in the 2015 class while David Dowell is ranked as the No. 25 athlete prospect.
