Iowa or Missouri for Godfrey

Missouri or Iowa? That’s the decision facing Baytown (Texas) Lee safety Charles Godfrey has to make here this week after taking his second and likely final official visit to Missouri this weekend.

“Coach Pinkel is a great guy, and it was nice to talk to him in person,” Godfrey, who is 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, said. “I have only talked to him on the phone, but today was the first time to talk to him in person and really spend a lot of time with him. He’s probably the biggest thing about Missouri that I love.

“I also think I could see the field quickly at Missouri.”

But he also knows that Iowa is a great situation for him, too.

“The coaches at Iowa and the fact that I’m familiar with some of the players might make me think a little bit higher about Iowa right now,” Godfrey said. “I’m going to visit with the Iowa coaches on Monday and then the Missouri coaches on Tuesday. I’ll talk it over and then commit.”
