Iowa OL makes his choice

Mason City, Iowa offensive lineman John Tjaden has gone ahead and ended the recruiting process.
"I just couldn't see myself going anywhere else," the 6-foot-7, 285-pound Tjaden said. "I liked everything about Iowa State and just knew it was the place for me."

The Cyclones edged out Iowa and Kansas State for one of the top linemen in the Big 12 region.
"Iowa State was the first school that offered me a scholarship," Tjaden said. "They've wanted me for a long time and I'm excited about heading to play in Ames."
The decision came just a week after Tjaden hinted he was close to a decision.
"I would say I am leaning toward Iowa State right now," Tjaden told Big12Recruiting last week. "I'm not committed to them. But right now I'd say they are the top school. They are my only scholarship offer, so it is tough to look past that right now."
Tjaden's senior season got under way Friday night and some schools had indicated they wanted to see film from his senior season before making a decision on him.
"Some places indicated they wanted senior game film. I was comfortable that Iowa State was the place for me, so I went ahead and ended it."
