Iowa lineman draws Pac-10 offer

Laporte City, Iowa offensive line prospect Matt Pipho (6-foot-7, 255 pounds) has landed his first scholarship offer this spring.

“The coaches from Stanford made an in school visit last last week," Matt Pipho said. “Then the next day I received a call from head coach Buddy Teevens, and he offered me a scholarship."

"When your talking about Stanford, academics are the first thing that comes to mind. Stanford offers an exceptional education. I really don't know much about the football program or the facilities and things like that, but I plan to do some research on them. I might try to get out there for an unofficial visit this summer, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to do that. My family is very excited about me getting an offer from Stanford and so am I."

Pipho has also been taking calls from a handful of schools so far. "Harvard, Stanford and Indiana have all made calls so far." Pipho has also been seeing a steady stream of in school visitors as well. "Last week Stanford and Iowa made in school visits, and I also know that Notre Dame is scheduled to make a visit this week as well."

Matt Pipho will participate in the Nike Football Training Camp in Iowa City, Iowa on Sunday.
