Iowa leads for Michigan back

Detroit M.L. King running back Butler Benton did everything he could to help his team make it deeper in the Michigan state playoffs. However, his teammates just couldn’t help him out and his team lost sooner than expected.
“I don’t know if it was the weather or what, but we made a ton of mistakes,” Benton, who is a two-star running back that is 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, said. “The quarterback fumbled twice and threw an interception. The receivers were dropping passing and the other running back fumbled once. We only gave up three first downs on defense, but we still lost.”

In the end, it was still a great season for King. They won another city championship and it’s about to send a number of players to the next level, including Butler.
“I have a visit with Indiana set up for December 5,” Benton said. “I’m also going to go to Iowa and Duke the first two weekends in January. Boston College and Purdue are likely my last two trips.”
Benton said Purdue has come into the picture lately.
“My coach sent down some film of me, and they really liked what they saw,” Benton said. “They haven’t offered yet, but they’re beginning the process of calling me and getting me to come up on a visit.”
Benton said Indiana remains his lone scholarship offer, but that’s likely to change after he starts to take trips.
“Iowa is my favorite,” he said. “They have great running backs and they’re always ranked in the top 20. It’s a good program with a good coaching staff. I don’t know much about the college or the area in Iowa, but I hope to see more when I got for my visit.”
