Pat Angerer of Bettendorf, Iowa, was the only junior named to the Des Moines Register’s all-state team in 2003, so it’s no surprise that he’s one of the state of Iowa’s top prospects for the Class of 2005. Heck, he’s already picked up his first scholarship offer, to boot.
Angerer already has an offer from Iowa State. He’s also getting heavy regular attention in the mail from Penn State, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Indiana. Angerer said he was excited about the offer from Iowa State.
"It feels really good,” he told IowaPreps.com. “It really feels that something has been lifted off of my chest.”

Angerer, though, doesn’t sound like he’s in a rush to make a decision. He’s set to camp this summer at both Iowa and Iowa State.
“I’m looking for a place where I feel at home at,” Angerer said. “I also want a great possibility to play.”
Angerer, who had 114 solo tackles, 83 assists and 26 tackles for a loss, considers himself as an athlete first and linebacker second.
“I’m a very athletic linebacker,” he said. “I love to hit people and make plays.”
Angerer has a 4.58-second time in the 40-yard dash and a 280-pound bench-press. He also has a 3.0 grade-point average.
