Iowa, Kansas on the mind of 3-star Missouri DT Daniel Parker, Jr.

The Latest: As one of the top linemen in the state of Missouri, it’s not a surprise to see several of the Big 10 and Big 12’s best programs lining up to impress three-star defensive lineman Daniel Parker, Jr. He has been on the road taking several visits to college campuses and over the weekend he trekked to New Orleans to take part in the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp presented by adidas, where he walked away with defensive line MVP honors. Rivals.com caught up with Parker at the event to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: “I’ve been to Kansas, Iowa and Missouri so far this spring.”

On Kansas: “I feel like they’re doing something good and really building something there. Because Coach Beatty has been bringing in some really big recruits. I know they’ve gotten some four-stars and everything and they’ve updated the facilities and the weight rooms and everything looks nice out there. They’re a school I’m seriously considering. Their message to me was that it’s not going to be easy for me to step in a start but they feel like I can be an impact guy for them.”

On Iowa: “I love their fans. It’s crazy. Every game is packed. I went to a game during the season when they played Iowa State and the student section was calling my name and things like that and it was just crazy. It was a cool experience for me. I think their facilities there are top-notch and a lot better than people realize. They have special equipment to track you in the weight room and they believe in that technology to help you workout smarter. They have a defensive lineman that was just at the combine and did pretty well and they do a good job of helping guys get to the next level.”

Rivals Reaction: Parker is high on the board of several programs and could help elevate his status with a good showing during offseason camps. Programs like Nebraska and Missouri are also vying for his services but he said he’s planning on taking a break from visits during a busy track season.
