Iowa hosts Obasih

Brookfield (Wisc.) Central class of 2013 defensive end Chikwe Obasih has made a couple visits to in-state program Wisconsin this fall. On Saturday he took his first out-of-state game day visit to see Iowa play host to Michigan State.
"It was a great community atmosphere down there. Everybody was behind the team, so I enjoyed that," Obasih said. "I enjoyed how hard Iowa fought back even though they lost the game."

The trip also was a homecoming of sorts for Obasih's father, and the pair was able to reconnect with familiar faces during their time in Iowa.
"My dad went to graduate school in Iowa, so we have close relationships down there," Obasih said. "We met up with some relatives after the game, so it was good to have family around there."
When he was not around relatives or watching the game, Obasih had a chance to spend time talking with the Iowa coaches about their plans for recruiting him.
"I go to talk to Coach [Lester] Erb, the recruiting coordinator for our area. Then, I got to talk to Eric Johnson for a little while," Obasih said. "They wanted me to bring some film down, but I didn't know they wanted me to so I've got to send that to them as soon as possible."
Earlier this fall, Obasih attended Wisconsin home games against South Dakota and Nebraska. Once his season hit November, though, he turned his focus to his team. With his junior season now finished, though, Obasih is looking at getting out to a few more schools this fall.
"Notre Dame invited me to the game last weekend and Wisconsin invited me last week too," Obasih said. "Minnesota invited me to their game against Illinois on the 26th and Wisconsin invited me to their game on the 26th against Penn State. We're thinking about emailing some of the other schools that have tried contacting me."
Obasih has not decided which game he will attend on Nov. 26, and he is leaving this weekend open to see which schools may come through with an offer to visit.
