Iowa better than Gholston expected
"Yes, I did," defensive end Vernon Gholston responded when asked if he visited Iowa over the weekend. "It was better than what I expected."

"The coaching staff was very nice," he said. "And they have an outstanding weight room."
"I've been to Michigan, Iowa, and Michigan State. I have Ohio State Jan. 9. Right now that's my last visit. But my coach might set up another one. We're looking around."

The 6-foot-3 and 240 pound Gholston, from Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech, registered six sacks during his senior season and made over 70 total tackles. He is the Rivals.com number ten weakside defensive end prospect with a four star rating.
