Interest rises for Virginia DE

Spotsylvania, Va. is home to a massive defensive lineman in end Quartez Carter. The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder is hearing from colleges across the country including ones in the Big Ten, ACC and SEC.
"I've gotten letters from Purdue, Temple, Illinois, Michigan, Duke, Georgia, Virginia and Virginia Tech," he said. "I just got back from a visit to Virginia recently.

"That was real nice. It was my first time there and they have some good coaches and are real serious. They want to win. I liked it."
More visits are likely for Carter who is looking at trips to Maryland, JMU and Virginia Tech soon.
Carter claims no early favorites, but did mention what he's looking for in a school.
"I want to win," he said. "I want to have a winning season. I'm also looking to major in business or sports science."
Last season the Virginia prospect earned first team all-district and region honors as a junior.
"I made a big improvement last year," he stated. "I did well running, catching and had more tackles. I just want to get faster and stronger this year."
