Interest rises for VA lineman Scott

Recruiting is rising for 6-foot-5, 272-pound defensive end A.J. Scott. The Staunton (Va.) Robert E. Lee prospect already claims Division I-AA offers and is getting looks from a variety of I-A programs.
"I have offers from James Madison and Liberty. I got those earlier this year," he stated. "I am hearing from North Carolina, NC State, Boston College, Syracuse, Michigan State and Virginia a bit."

Recently Scott visited JMU.
"It was alright. That's the only visit I've been to so far."
While he may only have visited James Madison so far, plenty more schools will see Scott this summer.
"I'm going to go to camps at Maryland, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Marshall I believe. I want to go to those because I'm interested in them. I want to see the campus and what it looks like."
As interest rises, does Scott like anybody?
"I'm liking Maryland right now," he said. "I like the program, team, colors and the way they play football. I've been in touch with the coaches and they are nice guys."
Scott is a versatile prospect that could play either side of the ball.
"I prefer defense, but some teams are talking about offense. I could play defensive tackle or defensive end."
