Interest rises for Geier
Interest is beginning to pick up for Pittsburgh (Pa.) Carrick offensive tackle David Geier. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder is already hearing from a few schools in the Big Ten and ACC.
"I'm getting recruited by Northwestern, Wisconsin, Illinois, Georgia Tech and a few others," he said. "I haven't taken any visits yet, but I do kind of like Northwestern and Georgia Tech.

"Both of those schools have pretty good teams and are good colleges."
Although he doesn't hold an offer to date, Geier did discuss what he wants in a college.
"I guess location is kind of important to me and education. I want to go into some kind of engineering if possible."
The offensive tackle is also a wrestler and discussed his prowess on the field a bit.
"I did pretty well last year," he said. "I was much faster and quicker. I think I'm a pretty good all-around leader. I just have to improve on my speed, That's the big thing for me."
