Interest picks up for Tennessee DT

Defensive tackle Hakeem Worthen has a number of colleges interested. The Knoxville (Tenn.) South Doyle prospect doesn't hold an offer to date, but is getting evaluated by a number of schools in the Big Ten, Big East and SEC.
"I've been getting a lot of letters and making calls," he said. "Some coaches have come to my school. I'm hearing from Tennessee, Louisville, Auburn, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan State.

"This summer I've gone to Tennessee, Kentucky, Middle Tennessee and Ohio State for camps."
Are schools close to offering?
"Mostly they are evaluating me and watching my film," he stated. "I think some of those schools could offer pretty soon once I complete summer school. I believe that's what Tennessee and Louisville said.
"I really like Kentucky. It's a nice campus and they have really good coaches. Being from Knoxville, I like Tennessee a lot too."
What does Worthen want in a college?
"The main thing I want to look at is to go to a school where I can play. I want to be in the rotation," he said. "I want a good education of course too. Location isn't really a big factor for me."
Last season Worthen posted 86 tackles as a junior.
