Interest picks up for PA quarterback

Recruiting is beginning to heat up for 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback Matt McGloin. The Scranton (Pa.) West Scranton prospect is hearing from numerous schools in the ACC, Big East and Big Ten.
"I know Penn State was down at my school getting film along with Michigan, Maryland and Pittsburgh," he said. "Syracuse, Iowa, Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia Tech have also come in."

Does McGloin have any favorites?
"Actually, my favorite is Notre Dame, but I'm also kind of liking Maryland some too," he said. "I like that they are in the ACC and competitive."
At this time, the Keystone State quarterback hasn't made any trips, however he does have plans to in the near future.
"I'm going to go to the Nike Camp at Penn State," he said. "I also plan to participate in summer camps at Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland and Pittsburgh.
With a variety of schools looking at McGloin, what does he want out of a college?
"I want a good education and a program that I can play for," he said. "I want to be a dentist and so a medical program is pretty important. As for location, I'd sort of like to stay in the eastern part of the country."
Last season McGloin threw for 1,718 yards and 17 touchdowns in 10 games.
