Interest picks up for DC backer Bailey

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy linebacker Charles Bailey continues to hold one scholarship. The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder has yet to take a visit this fall, but continues to wait patiently.
"I have an offer from Ohio, that's the only one right now," he said. "They offered about three or four months ago.

"I gave them a call a few weeks back. They tell me a lot. I don't know too much about the school. I'm working on a visit there."
Lots of other teams are eyeing Bailey as well.
"I've had Kansas, Illinois, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Wagner, Towson, Eastern Michigan and Marshall show interest," he said. "Only a few, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland and Penn State have talked about a possible offer. They want to see how my senior year turns out and make sure on my academics, which are good."
With interest growing, Bailey discussed what he wants in a college.
"I'm really looking for academics," he said. "I want an academic school and be a football player. I want encouragement on and off the field, an up tempo team and somewhere they are passionate about their school. I want a brotherhood."
