Interest picks up for ATH Thorpe
Recruiting is starting to heat up for Richmond (Va.) Varina athlete Justin Thorpe. Some of the top schools from across the country are taking a hard look at the 6-foot-0, 188-pounder.
"I'm getting interest from Notre Dame, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, North Carolina State, Louisville, Florida, Florida State, Rutgers and Michigan," he said. "Nobody has offered, but they all are sending me a lot of letters.

"So far I haven't taken any visits, but I'm hoping to make it out to Virginia Tech and Notre Dame this spring."
Currently five colleges are leading for the Varina stars services.
"Notre Dame sticks out the most because they are sending me the most stuff," he said. "I'm also interested in Virginia Tech, Florida, Florida State and Rutgers a lot. They are showing interest too and talk a lot about their graduation rates and facilities."
This month Thorpe plans to participate in the Baltimore Nike Camp. He's also considering attending the Virginia Tech senior camp this summer.
Thorpe accounted for 1,300 yards passing and 23 total touchdowns to go with eight interceptions last season.
