Interest picks up at Ocean Lakes

Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes has one of the top prospects in 2010 in wide receiver Justin Hunter. The school has a variety of other talent both this year and next still getting interest.
The big name this year is 5-foot-11, 192-pound safety Shamarko Thomas who holds nearly a dozen offers including ones from Louisville, Marshall, Akron and Kent State.

"He's trying to set up an official visit with Louisville," Ocean Lakes coach Chris Scott said. "Louisville has said he's their number one guy.
"Virginia Tech is showing interest. They have said in any given year he'd have an offer, but with what they have they don't want to get overextended.
"North Carolina is very interested, West Virginia is a bit and Syracuse is extremely interested too."
According to Scott, Thomas has had a good season.
"In three games this season he had 20 tackles, two for loss, five pass breakups and two interceptions. He's everywhere."
Thomas isn't the only player getting interest.
"Running back Walter Davis is running the ball well. I'm getting a lot of calls about him, but nobody has offered yet."
Ocean Lakes features one more 2010 prospects in addition to Hunter.
"Linebacker Matthew Baptiste is getting a lot of attention from Colorado and Nebraska."
