Interest picking up for 3-star QB Ferrell

After leading his team to the state semifinals in the state of Tennessee and putting up impressive statistics, things are starting to heat up on the recruiting trail for 2016 three-star Nashville (Tenn.) Pearl-Cohn quarterback Jimmy Ferrell.
"I had a pretty good season this year and even though we didn't quite win it all we were right there," the 6-foot-1, 198-pound signal caller said. "Now I'm ready to get out and show schools what I can do in person."

Ferrell finished the year with 2,296 yards passing and 32 touchdowns while completing and impressive 71.3 percent of his passes. Since the year has wrapped up he'd heard from several programs, including Memphis.
"They have been talking to me and they wanted me to come for a visit but I couldn't make it because of our schedule," Ferrell said. "I know they've had a big year and they are really turning things around."
Ferrell said the chance to stay close to home is something that really intrigues him.
"I think it would be big to state in-state," Ferrell said. "I know my family would like to be able to come see me play every week."
While he's picked up plenty of interest, Ferrell said he knows he's going to have to go out and prove what he can do in a camp setting.
"I want to go visit Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio State," he said. "The Buckeyes have always been my favorite so I want to go see them. I like how they use their quarterbacks and if you look at how guys stepped up you can tell they have really good coaches."
