Interest is rising for OT Speros

Oakton (Va.) Flint Hill School offensive tackle Jimmy Speros is gaining interest. The 6-foot-, 267-pounder has a number of major college programs interested in his services.
"I've been getting letters from Wake Forest, Duke, Virginia, NC State, William & Mary, Liberty, Richmond, JMU and Maryland," he said. "I've been to all of those camps except Duke. I went there twice for visits and I'm going back in the next couple weeks to meet with Coach Cutcliffe and watch a practice."

Has anyone offered?
"Liberty told me they want me, but they haven't officially offered yet," he said. "As far as Division I schools, Wake Forest and Duke are probably the two biggest. Wake Forest told me I was one of the top five linemen at their camp and an offer would depend on my senior year.
"As far as Duke, they like my size and I'll find out more from them after my visit. One other school that likes me a lot is Maryland. Coach Cosh thought I did a great job at their camp."
Most of the other schools are waiting for more film this fall before a decision is made.
Currenlty Speros isn't favoring anyone.
"I like a lot of schools," he said. "I like Liberty's facilities, Wake Forest a lot, Virgini a lot, Maryland and Duke," he said. "I want a school with a good history, a school that is going to be able to win. I want somewhere with great football facilities, great academics and a good coaching staff that cares about their players."
Speros earned first team all-conference and second team all-state honors as a junior after helping his team to a 7-3 record.
"I'm a big athletic kid that moves really well for my size. I'm a competitor and give 100% effort on the field," he stated. "I really want to work on my pass blocking so that it is as good as my run blocking.
