Interest is rising for Nicastro

Good Counsel is home to a plenty of talent in the 2012 recruiting class. A prospect slipping under the radar a bit is 5-foot-10, 200-pound athlete Michael Nicastro who is starting to see his recruitment pick up.
"Tulane is still the only offer right now," he said. "I am in touch with some Division I-AA schools like Colgate and Holy Cross. One of my coaches is in contact with Virginia, Georgia Tech and Temple too, but I don't think anything is going to happen until the end of the season."

What are these colleges saying?
"Coach Mack gives them a highlight of my first couple games and they all like what they see. The response is that they'll follow up on it after the season."
On the year, Nicastro has had a good season helping Good Counsel to a 10-0 record over the regular season.
"I feel I'm a big part of that and the coaches have me at linebacker this year," he said. "I'm having a pretty good year, I feel some of my better games are against better competition. This year I feel like I'm playing with more confidence than in the past. I'm a leader on this team."
Nicastro is certainly getting noticed as he was recently named to the Chesapeake Bowl.
"It's definitely a big event and very prestigious, that's a big deal," he stated. "It's very honorable to get to play in it and at the same time, get to see how good you are compared to other players. I get to test my abilities against everybody else to see what I'm made of."
