Interest in Chatmon is picking up

Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara linebacker Brandon Chatmon is one of Pennsylvania's top prospects from the Class of 2012.
Since the contact period opened up at the beginning of this month interest in Chatmon has really been picking up.

Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wisconsin, Oregon and Temple are just some of the schools showing interest in the 6-foot, 217-pound prospect.
Most of that interest has come in the form of communication through the mail or online.
"I've talked to the Maryland coach on the phone but that's about it," Chatmon said. "I know I'm supposed to be giving the Michigan State coach a call sometime this weekend."
So far Pitt is the only school that has offered.
"Pitt's a good school, like I've said before. It's just like Philadelphia so it's basically where I'm from. Every school that's recruiting me I'd give the same props. It's hard for me to decide and say, 'Yeah, this is my top school.'"
While he insists he doesn't have any favorites Maryland is in a good position. The Terps seem to have shown the most interest, aside from the fact they haven't offered, and he was recently down in College Park for the Terps' opener against Miami.
"It was awesome," he said of his trip to Maryland. "I got a chance to go out to that game and it was a great experience. The campus is beautiful. It was just perfect.
"My school has Under Armour and I really don't like it but their uniforms were top of the line. It was crazy," he laughed. "I've never seen anything like it."
Cardinal O'Hara has won their first two games. On Saturday they won 39-0 and Chatmon feels great about how things have gone.
Through the first two games he has more than 20 tackles and three deflections. He thought he had an interception this weekend but the referee ruled otherwise.
