Interest grows for Lazard
2013 offensive tackle Marcell Lazard of Bloomfield, N.J. holds offers from Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Buffalo, and has received interest from a number of other programs, but even he was surprised by the overwhelming amount of attention that came on September 1st.
"I got so much mail and so many Facebook requests on that first day," said Lazard. "I have a whole shoe box of mail with letters and game invites. It has been fun coming home every day and seeing new letters to open. It's pretty exciting right now."

Lazard mentioned that he has been hearing from West Virginia, Rutgers, Boston College, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Temple and Penn State, and he was especially excited about getting interest from Alabama.
Does the 6-foot-5, 292-pound lineman have any favorites to this point?
"I have always liked Boston College and Notre Dame," said Lazard. "They have great coaching staffs, and both have my major. I went to Notre Dame for camp and it was amazing. Their campus is really nice and historic. Boston College just has a beautiful college town. Rutgers would also make my top three. I love their coaching staff and they have some of the best facilities in the country."
Lazard, who plans to major in sports management and become an agent, will have a busy fall with school, football and recruiting trips.
"I am trying to make to a couple games," said Lazard. "I want to go to the next Rutgers home game, and I would also like to go up to Boston College and Maryland."
Lazard, who plays offensive tackle and goal line defensive tackle, helped his team win their first game last weekend in blowout fashion. He said he is working on finishing blocks and being a more dominate player overall.
