Recruiting is starting to pick up for Charlotte (N.C.) Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology athlete Kedrick Davis. The 2012 prospect is gathering interest from a few schools in the ACC and SEC to date.
"Duke, North Carolina and South Carolina are showing interest," he said. "I've visited South Carolina and Duke. They were both good visits. I was just really getting a feel for it.
"I talked to the wide receivers coach at Duke, but they didn't get into a lot of detail."

Does Davis like any schools in the early going?
"I like South Carolina, Virginia Tech and probably Kentucky," he said. "I guess I like the offenses they run and South Carolina is where I'm from.
"I like that Virginia Tech is a very organized team, they have a lot of speed and I can fit in there. Kentucky I don't really know, they are just one school I've watched."
Davis had an impressive junior season.
"I think I was second in the state in kick returns and third in punt returns. I did well receiving too," he said. "I think my speed and ability to make plays stands out, but I still want to work on my vision a little bit."
Last season Davis placed fourth in the 200 and third in the 100 in the region in his first year running track.
