Interest growing for Apostolu

College interest is growing for Springfield, Pa. junior offensive tackle Nick Apostolu. The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder has yet to land a scholarship, but has schools across the East Coast intrigued.
"I'm hearing from Temple, Penn State, Michigan, NC State, Rutgers and Syracuse," he said. "I took a few unofficials to Temple, Rutgers and Penn State.

"They were all really fun. The experience at Penn State was unbelievable. The fact they had 108,000 people there and all the fans were just crazy."
The Penn State visit made an impact as the Nittany Lions seem to stand out early.
"Being from the area, I like Penn State," he said. "I like all the schools I've visited though. I know a couple people at Penn State that I grew up with. I would say I don't really have a specific favorite."
Apostolu helped his team to a 7-4 record this year.
"We had a new offense," he said. "I think I did the same thing I always try to do, block my man.
"I think what sticks out about me is that I know what I have to do and under pressure I do it."
A versatile athlete, Apostolu participates in the shot putt, discuss and swims outside of football.
