Interest growing for 2014 QB White

Although Sean White only saw limited action at Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna in 2010, his experience that season on the varsity squad was invaluable.
"I backed up Jerrard Randall," White said. "He went on to LSU. I learned a lot from him."

A year later, White took over as the starter and produced these solid numbers: 2,200 yards passing, 26 touchdowns and three interceptions. Only a sophomore, the 6-feet-2, 195-pounder is on the radar of many schools.
"I hear from Notre Dame, FSU, Miami … USC sends me mail as well," White said. "Wake Forest is showing me the most interest. They're not allowed to talk to me much yet, but they send a lot of mail. Some of it is generic, and some is more personalized."
Already, White has visited the Seminoles.
"I went up there for junior day," White said. "That went well. I met with the QB coach Dameyune Craig. He talked about how they're starting to look for 2014 quarterbacks and they're interested in me. I'm not sure where else I'm going to visit this year. I'm definitely going to some camps. I'm just not sure which ones."
In the meantime, White is trying to secure a spot with the South Florida Express 7-on-7 squad. He performed at a high level last Sunday and made it through that round of cuts.
"I think I did pretty well," White said. "I competed out there. There were a lot of good quarterbacks out there. I think I have pretty good arm strength. I feel like I can make any throw on the field. I probably [need to work on] reading defenses, and my footwork."
