Interest continues for big ATH Bryant

Athlete Lamont Bryant out of Newport News (Va.) Denbigh continues to receive a lot of interest from schools across the East Coast. It's not surprising considering the athlete is a 6-foot-6, 216-pounder that is a very versatile prospect.
"We're getting a lot of interest for Lamont still from many of the same schools that have already offered Jaymes Brooks including Maryland, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, North Carolina State, South Carolina, Tennessee and others," Denbigh head coach Tracy Herrod said. "The problem though is nobody has offered because he is very border line academically. He is right at a 2.0 GPA, but he is planning to go to summer school to fix that."

Obviously Bryant's impressive size is a big draw for recruiters, but what else makes him stand out?
"He is an excellent player that is big, strong and aggressive," he stated. "He is a very coachable kid that has the ability to play multiple positions in college. I think he could be a quarterback or a big-time wide receiver in college.
"Lamont is also a great kid that does what you ask and knows what he is supposed to do all the time. He has been starting for us since he was a freshman and has grown to be a fine young man."
Bryant earned honorable mention all-district honors as a junior.
