Interest coming for another Mitchell

Those who keep up with East Texas football are well aware of sophomore speedster Jazsman Mitchell at Tyler (Texas) Lee who is coming off of an injury this last year. It's his cousin, Jamal Mitchell who is now getting big interest of his own in the class of 2008.
Mitchell, the 5-foot-9, 185-pounder, has plenty of versatility. With a senior running back in the lineup, he would line up at the fullback position. This year, he's looking to increase his role as a tailback. With his cousin coming back this year to play on varsity, it should be quite the running back duo.

"Most schools are recruiting me at tailback," Mitchell said. "That's where I'm staying. I just know that right now I'm the starter."
Mitchell has been getting mail from schools as Colorado, Kansas State, Duke, SMU, and Baylor to name a few. He's taken two trips to SMU already, his most recent this past Saturday.
"It's a great school," Mitchell said about the Mustangs. "I can see myself going there. Both of the trips were pretty good."
The first scholarship offer hasn't come yet for Mitchell but he's thinking about other visits. After being invited to junior days at Kansas State and Colorado, he's trying to iron out where he's going next.
"I don't know if I'm going to make those because of how far it is," Mitchell said about the Big 12 trips. "I want to see if my mom will let me go to the NIKE Camp in Colorado though."
