Interest begins for Carolina WR

Interest is beginning to pick up for a wide receiver in North Carolina for the 2011 class. The 6-foot-0, 195-pounder is getting looks from two schools in-state so far and more is coming.
"I've gotten letters from NC State and North Carolina, that's all it's been so far," Monroe (N.C.) Parkwood junior wide receiver Marcus Leak said. "I went to North Carolina's camp this summer when they were looking at my brother.

"I'm not favoring anyone right now though. I'm just trying to get a scholarship and a good education. I want to be successful in life."
Leak is coming off a solid junior season in which he posted 630-yards receiving and eight total touchdowns including two rushing and one punt return.
"I thought I did pretty well," he said. "I hurt my ankle and missed four games. I could have done better. I think right now my speed and strength are what stands out."
A versatile athlete, Leak is also a talent in track.
"I was ranked fourth in the state in the high jump and track is actually my favorite sport," he said. "I've gotten a couple letters for it. I do the high jump, long jump, 100 meter, 4x1 and 4x2."
