Instant impact: Five who will star as freshmen

Recruitment overview: Haskins has been the ring leader for "The Movement" for
Maryland but his recruitment is in flux because of the coaching changes going on
in College Park. On Dec. 11, Haskins took an official visit to Ohio State,
which seems to be the biggest threat to Maryland. Florida also hosted Haskins
for an official visit at the end of November. LSU is also in the picture after
losing Feleipe Franks to Florida and because big time freshman
Kevin Toliver II is
Haskins' cousin.
Impact potential: Haskins' potential is sky high at Maryland. He delivers the
ball quickly and accurately and those are two of the most important things in
new Terrapin offensive coordinator Walt Bell's system. There are some good
playmakers in this Maryland recruiting class so Haskins will have reliable
players to get the ball to. It seems like Maryland has gone through a dozen
quarterbacks over the past couple years but, with Haskins likely starting from
day one, there might finally be some consistency under center for the Terps.

rated players over the next couple years. -- Friedman
Big 12
Baylor
WR Devin Duvernay, Sachse, Texas
Recruitment overview: Duvernay picked the Bears over finalists
Alabama, Ohio
State and Oklahoma, announcing his decision late last month and joining his
brother Donovan Duvernay in Baylor's 2016 recruiting class. He became
the second Rivals100 prospect to commit to Baylor -- the only program in the
conference with a commit on the list.
Impact potential: The fit couldn't be any more perfect. Duvernay, a track star
with incredible wheels, is a blur in open space and a tough cover down field. He
also possesses reliable hands that could make him a threat on underneath routes
in Baylor's high-octane offense. KD Cannon had a monster freshman season in
2014 going into a similar situation and, with leading receiver Corey Coleman
leaving for the NFL Draft, the opportunities should be there for Duvernay to put
his skills on display. -- Blair Angulo, West Recruiting Analyst
Pac-12
Arizona State
WR N'Keal Harry, Chandler, Ariz.
Recruitment overview: After taking a few out-of-state trips, Harry decided that
home -- and staying close to the grandmother that helped raise him -- was best
for him so he committed to the Sun Devils over the likes of Texas A&M,
USC and
Washington. It carried significant impact for Arizona State, which had lost out
on top in-state talent in recent years. The Sun Devils also landed a commitment
from Harry's teammate, four-star athlete Chase Lucas, and are in the running for
four-star cornerback Byron Murphy, who accompanied Harry on in-season visits to
College Station and Seattle.
Impact potential: With Arizona State set to lose three of its top four
receivers, there should be a need for a physical wideout that can make plays on
the edge and in the red zone next year. Harry has versatility to play multiple
spots but he is especially effective in tight spaces on crucial-down situations.
And after the departure of Mike Norvell to Memphis, there should be an empty
canvas that could help his chances at seeing the field right away. New offensive
coordinator Chip Lindsey was a hot commodity after his season at
Southern Miss,
where his offense averaged over 40 points per game and featured three receivers
with at least 50 catches. -- Angulo
SEC
Georgia
QB Jacob Eason, Lake Stevens, Wash.
Recruitment overview: Eason has been committed to Georgia since July 2014 but
when Mark Richt was fired he had to look at his options. Florida and Washington
hosted Eason on official visits before he eventually solidified his commitment
to the Bulldogs.
Impact potential: Like Josh Rosen did this season at
UCLA, Eason will likely be
Georgia's starter as a freshman and that means the success of the team will
mostly be determined by his play. There are a ton of playmakers on that Georgia
roster so Eason should have a lot of success as long as he can get them the ball
and play within the system. Many people see him as a potential first overall
draft pick just like former Bulldogs quarterback Matthew Stafford. --
