Injuries dont keep NY lineman from offer

An injury marred junior season kept Rockaway Park (N.Y.) Beach Channel defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi off the field last season. Still, that hasn't kept the 6-foot-4, 290-pounder from landing his first offer.
"I did pretty well last year," he said. "I only played in two games cause I had a knee injury. I'm a lot better now.

"In the first game I played I got nine tackles and two sacks, and in the second game, a playoff game I had 13 tackles and four sacks."
Few schools know about Fatukasi at this stage, however, Buffalo does as they are the lone offer to date.
"I want to say I got the offer last month during spring ball," he said. "They are a pretty good school. I like the facilities and athletically it fits pretty well. Academically it's nice and they have my major there, engineering."
The lineman may be verge on another offer soon.
"Connecticut says they are going to offer me," he said. "They just keep telling me to push. They want me to keep my grades up and by I believe June they should offer. They want to see me at their prospect camp."
In addition, Fatukasi has interest from Arizona State, Boise State, Fordham and Syracuse.
The defensive tackle discussed what he wants in a school.
"I'm looking for a place where I can stay focused, no distractions," he said. "In college, I'll have my fair share of fun, but I want to stay focused and get a high level education. My goal is to make it to the NFL hopefully, but if not I want to fall back on my education."
