Indy safety reaches 10 offers

Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis has three prospects picking up offers at a rapid pace this spring. 6-1, 195-pound safety Kevin Brown held three offers heading into the spring, but has seen his offer list balloon into double digit territory just within the last couple weeks.
"My most recent ones are Air Force, Army, Eastern Michigan, Temple, Western Kentucky, Toledo and Bowling Green," Brown reported. "Those are all from the past couple weeks. I just got one today and that was Eastern Michigan. Someone's come in almost every day… they've been one right after another."

The recent surge in offers has caught Brown somewhat by surprise. His focus this spring has been more on track than football.
"I have been training a little bit, but I'm in the middle of track season and we've been focused because we have Sectionals coming up next week," Brown said. "After the next two weeks, then I'll be all football."
Brown is looking forward to immersing himself into recruiting now that he has so many options to choose from. One of his first priorities this summer will be visiting campuses of the schools showing interest.
"Track conflicted with a couple other visits I planned on making, so I just went to Wisconsin's spring game and I went down to Louisville with [teammate] Wes [Rogers]," Brown said. "This summer I plan on making my way to different areas for camps and [visiting] all the schools that are around the camps I will be going to."
The college camps Brown plans to attend are Wisconsin, Michigan State, Ohio State and Kentucky. He expects to make unofficial visits in conjunction with those camps to Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Toledo, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan.
Brown listed Wisconsin as his early leader, and there is still strong interest in the Badgers, but with so many new offers to consider Brown is back to being open about his recruitment.
"I'd say the playing field is even. I've got a lot of offers and haven't been able to see a lot of places," Brown said. "I'm definitely thinking of a pre-season [decision], so I can focus on the season. We are going to have everybody's attention during the season, so I don't want to worry about anything else but winning a state championship."
