Indianapolis (Ind.) Roncalli safety Jason Werner made 92 tackles and intercepted four passes during his junior season. He also played some wide receiver and is drawing interest from recruiters for both positions.
"I'm getting recruited mostly as a defensive back," Werner said. "But some schools say wide receiver."
"Right now my top three are probably Purdue, Miami of Ohio, and Indiana. That's nothing final, but so far that's my top three."
"I'm interested in a lot of Big Ten schools. Illinois, Michigan State, Northwestern, and Notre Dame too."
"I've been offered by Miami of Ohio and Duke."
"From what I've seen so far, probably Purdue's my favorite. I visited Purdue for a couple junior days. And a couple at Notre Dame too. And one at Indiana."
The 6-foot-5 and 205 pound Werner was an all-metro South and junior all-state selection last season.
