There are plenty of schools filling the mailbox of 2015 Charlotte (N.C.) Hough linebacker Christian Young. But when it comes to offers, they're all telling him the same thing.
"They're really saying that I have to improve my speed and come to camp this summer and show how fast I can run," Young said. "They want to make sure I can get out and tackle in space and in order to do that I need to be able to run."
Among the schools showing interest are Duke, East Carolina and Charlotte. All schools Young is planning on displaying his skills for this spring and summer.
"If it were up to my mom I would probably stay close to home and go to Charlotte," Young said. "She doesn't want me going far from home so we'll see."
In addition to the 49ers, Young said he's also very interested in hearing what the Blue Devils have to say.
"The education you can get at Duke is something that really stands out," he said. "When you go there for football you're going to get a good education. If things don't pan out in the future with football you always have that degree to fall back on."
