Early offers are becoming a regular occurrence for Richardson (Texas) Berkner offensive guard Josh LeRibeus.
Two offers in February from Baylor and Boston College for LeRibeus. The 6-foot-3, 321-pounder didn't have too much longer to wait before the next one came to his door. His mother, Debbie LeRibeus says that the interest has really been amazing as of late.
"He has a new one from the University of Houston," LeRibeus' mother said. "He got a letter from the head coach stating that they wanted to give him an offer. He's really excited. This recruiting process has been a wonderful experience for him and he's looking forward to the future and any other offers."
Those "other" offers could be coming very soon. Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Florida, and Colorado State are just a few schools that have been sending handwritten letters. LeRibeus even took in the Oklahoma State junior day this past weekend.
"He loved everything about that," LeRibeus said. "We've had tons of stuff from them. Texas Tech is making more of an appearance."
One in-state program appears to be in an early lead. An offer hasn't come yet, but LeRibeus' mother says that they're being patient.
"For the most part, he's open but I think he has been leaning a little more towards Texas A&M," LeRibeus' mother said. "He's been down there a few times and really enjoyed the experience, the facilities, and the loyalty among the fans and students.
"It's a great location being still in Texas and the educational possibilities are endless there. That's kind of been the frontrunner for him."
LeRibeus plans on taking a few trips in the near future. He wants to get down to Houston after the offer, possibly Florida for a one-day camp, Colorado State, and possibly a fall visit to Boston College.
"He is just getting tons of mail," he said. "I know everybody gets mail, but he's really pumped about what is to come."
