Impact freshmen: SEC
Godwin's nickname in high school was "Mr. Go Get It," mainly because of his proclivity to make outstanding, highlight-reel catches on both sides of the ball. Godwin's ball skills were never a question, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he's been turning heads with amazing catches during camp with the Bulldogs. The recent injury to Justin Scott-Wesley only further opens the door for Godwin, who should see the field early and often. -- Woody Wommack, Southeast analyst

Ivey had worked as the first-team left tackle in practice and had a real shot to start the season at the position until he went down with a minor leg injury. Ivery is expected to miss two weeks, but should be back in plenty of time to make an impact on the Gators' 2015 season. The Apopka (Fla.) High School product certainly lived up to his five-star billing during his short time at UF and should continue to shine when he returns to the field. Should Ivey return to form, he will likely be the only freshman to start along UF's offensive line. -- Cassidy |
Kirk graduated high school early, arrived in College Station for spring practice and made a splash almost immediately. The explosive wide receiver was a five-star prospect and has performed like one thus far. He is listed as a starter at wide receiver on the Aggies' depth chart and will also likely serve as the team's return man. Kirk is a versatile, dynamic player that will get plenty of touches in a number of different scenarios. -- Cassidy |
Patterson impressed upon arrival at Ole Miss, but an injury to offensive guard Rod Taylor helped open the door for him to become a starter. It seems Patterson, a former Rivasl100 prospect, will occupy a starting guard spot for the Rebels when the season opens and he certainly has the talent to make a mark. Patterson does not possess elite size but retains quickness and possesses the speed of a much larger prospect. -- Cassidy |
Much like Derek Barnett a year ago, Phillips is a defensive end turning heads with his talent during camp. After shaking off an initial injury, Phillips is showing the athleticism and pass-rushing ability that helped him ascend to five-star status in time for the final Class of 2015 rankings. Tennessee's defensive line was already one of its strongest units, but the addition of Phillips should give it an extra boost from Game 1. -- Wommack |

Ridley has always been a special talent, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he's ready to step in and contribute with the Tide from Day 1. The loss of first round draft pick Amari Cooper left an opening at the wide receiver position, and Ridley has seized the opportunity. If he can turn his camp showings into success on the field, it shouldn't be long before the former five-star proves his ranking was worthwhile. -- Wommack |
