Selection Tour for the 2016 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game
at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. today. The event was part of the three-month
American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the Under Armour All-America Game.
Aguayo, Gerald, Manuel, Rahshaun Smith and Saivion Smith are five of more than
90 players selected to compete in the ninth annual Under Armour All-America Game
presented by American Family Insurance, a nationally televised competition
spotlighting the country's top high school seniors. The 2016 Under Armour
All-America Game is slated for Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Orlando Citrus Bowl and
will be televised live on ESPN2 at noon ET.
"It's a big deal for me because my brother (current Florida State kicker, Robert
Aguayo) was one kick away from making the game," Aguayo said. "I instilled in my
mind in eighth grade that I was going to make it to the game for him."
"It's a blessing," Manuel said. "From Pop Warner days and even in the back yard
just throwing the football around ... just watching the game throughout the
years and seeing all of the great ones that have come from the Under Armour
Game. It's just a blessing and a dream come true. It keeps me motivated and
keeps me going in the right direction."
"It's a dream come true," Rahshaun Smith said. "A lot of guys from back home
don't get this opportunity, the chance to do the things I'm doing. You grow up
watching these kinds of games and I'm definitely grateful for this."
"It's a dream come true for me," Saivion Smith said. "With the game being played
in St. Pete, I grew up in that area, so I always wanted to play in this game.
It's a dream come true for me."
