Imeokparia gains an offer, talks visits

In the past month, Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy athlete Ed Imeokparia has gained one more offer. The 6-foot-0, 188-pounder is looking at heading on a few more visits in the coming weeks to add more scholarships to his repertoire.
"I got an offer from Minnesota last month," he said. "I like coach Cross. He's a real straight forward guy, but I'm open to everyone."

Imeokparia claims offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Purdue, Temple and Wake Forest as well.
What's next for the two-star tailback?
"On Friday I'm going to the Friday Night Lights showcase at Florida," he stated. "Coach Addazio says I'm one of the few guys he's looking at up north. He's looking at me for both sides of the ball and wants me to workout for the coaches. There is the possibility I could come out of the visit with a scholarship.
"I've also been hearing from Ohio State recently. They are still interested and said they'll get back with me next week. In addition, coach Slade from Tennessee has been looking at me as a defensive back too. He likes me a lot, but needs to confirm things with coach Fulmer before anything is official."
Besides heading to Gainesville, Imeokparia is considering two more trips this summer.
"I'm going to try to head down to UNC next week," he said. "I want to meet coach Davis and maybe something could come out of that.
"I'm also looking at going to Tennessee sometime. Coach Slade wants me to come out there."
Does the Garden State prospect have any favorites?
"I'm still open," he said. "Once I found out what offers I have then I'll be able to narrow things down and name a favorite.
"I do want to decide before my last year. I want to get it out of the way so I can focus and prepare for the next level."
