"I received the scholarship offer paperwork in the mail today from the University of Iowa,” he said. “I now have offers from Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Miami of Ohio, New Mexico, Bowling Green, Purdue, Kentucky and Ball State."
So what are Martin's thoughts on offer No. 11 from Iowa?
"It's good to get an offer and a chance from Iowa,” he said. “I know that they had a great season last year and academically Iowa is pretty solid as well. I'm going to watch them closely this year and I'm interested in the type of offense they run."
Martin is getting ready this summer for the upcoming 2003 season, yet according to Martin he's has also begun to give his college choice some serious thought as well.
" I would say that Illinois is looking pretty good to me,” he said. “They were the first school to offer me, and I like the fact that it's pretty close to home so that my family can see me play. I also like the way Illinois throws the ball as well."
So has Martin's top five favorite schools list changed at all?
"I would say that my top five schools would be Illinois, Purdue, Iowa, Wisconsin and Kentucky,” he said.
