Illinois TE lands an SEC offer

Bloomington, Ill. tight end prospect Tim McAvoy (6-foot-6, 260 pounds) has been drawing plenty of notice so far this spring at several college camps, and McAvoy has added his third scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas.
"I had been trading emails with the coaches from Arkansas over the last week or so," Tim McAvoy said. "Yesterday, the Arkansas coaches called my head coach and told him that Arkansas was offering me a scholarship, so I called the coaches last night at Arkansas and they confirmed the offer."

McAvoy had recently camped at Arkansas and came away with a very good impression of Razorback football. "I'm very excited to get an offer from the Razorbacks. I really enjoyed the camp, and it was good to get to know the coaches better. Arkansas has very nice facilities and they are also in the process of improving more and more things, and the campus is also very, very pretty. From the mountains in the background to the architecture of the different building on campus, Arkansas was just a very nice experience overall, and I liked it a lot."
McAvoy, who has camped this spring at Northwestern, Arkansas and Nebraska, has plenty of summer camps still ahead.
"I'm heading to the Wisconsin camp this weekend. I'm also looking at several one-day camps. I'm planning to camp at Illinois, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State."
