Illinois star ready for visits

Bloomington (Ill.) Central Catholic defensive lineman Josh Brent, a 6-foot-3 and 280-pounder, is one of the Midwest's finest prospects and many major college recruiters would love to land his commitment.
"I have 11 offers I think," Brent said. "Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, and Western Michigan have offered."

Brent said he is not close to selecting a college and has no favorites at this time.
"It's up in the air," Brent said. "There are a lot of schools that have offered that I haven't visited yet. I've only visited Illinois and Iowa."
However that will soon change.
"I'm going to some camps and also take some unofficial visits and just look at the academic side of things," Brent said. "I'll definitely go to camps at Michigan, Ohio State, and Illinois, and probably Iowa. Michigan will be either June 17 or 19. Ohio State is June 23. I don't know for sure when Illinois will be. After that the rest are up in the air."
After he visits some schools this summer, Brent plans to narrow things down some and take at least a couple official visits.
"I'll probably take at least two or three official visits," Brent said. "I'll go to schools this summer and see what they're like, then decide who to visit (officially)."
Brent recently won the state shot-put title for his high school track team.
On the grid-iron he played defensive end and offensive tackle during his junior season and was an all-conference and all-area selection at both positions.
Brent made 109 tackles including six sacks. He had 31 tackles for losses. Brent will move inside and play defensive tackle in college.
