J. R. has been busy this summer and it will continue
this week, as his team battles for a third consecutive
state championship.
“Two a days start Wednesday.” He
spent a greater part of last week assisting in a
football camp for kids that range from 4th grade
through 9th grade.
It is early in the process for this prep who plans to
major in Business Management.
“I have received
letters from about 25 schools and I have offers from
Illinois, Northwestern, Iowa and Penn State.”
He has two schools that he wants to visit at this
stage. “Penn State and Notre Dame for sure. Other
than that it is too early to narrow down. I’m still
wide open.”
Among the other schools that send him letters, he
comments:
Notre Dame “Good tradition and academics too.”
Texas A&M “ I was told that they need good fullbacks
there and I wouldn’t mind going somewhere where it is
warmer.”
From the Big XII - “Nebraska has sent me some letters.
I don’t know that much about Nebraska. I know that
they are a good team with good linemen. They win a
lot of games.”
