Palatine (Ill.) junior quarterback prospect Scott Tolzien (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) from Fremd High School was one of several in-state prospects in attendance at last Saturday's Northwestern University junior day.
"I really enjoyed the Northwestern junior day," Tolzien said. "I've been to Northwestern several times before, but it was still good to get to know the coaches better."
Tolzien, who as a junior in 2004 passed for 1,898 yards and 16 touchdowns, talked about what stood out for him in Evanston on Saturday.

"I was able to take a tour of the campus and the facilities at Northwestern, and I'm always impressed with the campus. Northwestern also has very nice facilities. I also enjoyed getting to talk with the coaches at Northwestern, and they all seem like really good guys. Even though I've been to Northwestern several times, I was able to get a better idea of what goes on inside the program."
Tolzien, who is currently playing varsity basketball for the Fremd Vikings this winter, is hoping to fit in a few more junior day events.
"I'm hoping to get to junior days at both Purdue and Northern Illinois. I've been getting steady mail and invites from several schools to junior days, but I'm in the middle of my basketball season right now and that makes it hard to get to all of these different events."
