Naperville (Ill.) North junior inside linebacker prospect Osahon Tongo (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) has begun to draw some serious recruiting interest this winter. Tongo is one of several top in-state prospects who will attend this Saturday's Rivals.com's Junior Media Day in Naperville, and Tongo fills us in on his latest recruiting news.
"I've been to a junior day event at Wisconsin," Tongo said. "I was also invited to junior day at both Illinois and NIU but I couldn't make those. I'm also going to the Rivals.com junior day at my school this Saturday"
Tongo talked about his junior day visit to Wisconsin.
"It was a good visit to Wisconsin. I had a chance to get to meet several coaches and I just met a lot of people on my visit. I had a chance to talk with Coach Barry Alvarez, and he seems like a really good guy to play for in college. Everyone seemed really friendly at Wisconsin and it also seemed like a good atmosphere there. They have great facilities and a great stadium, and they really seem to take care of it's players really well."
Tongo, who will be a thrower this spring for the Huskies track team, has been receiving mail and recruiting interest from several schools this winter.
"I've been getting steady mail from Wisconsin, Illinois, NIU, Nebraska, Kansas State and Indiana."
Tongo maintains an impressive 3.6 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
