Illinois LB keeps getting stronger
Bolingbrook, Ill. inside linebacker prospect Ryan Bain (6-foot-2, 250 pounds) is staying busy this off season by hitting the weights. Bain is a member of the Bolingbrook powerlifting team, which impressed at Sunday's 4th annual SICA Conference challenge.

“Things have been going pretty well,” Ryan Bain said. “Our group (which included Bain as well as teammates DeAndre Jenkins and sophomore Maurice Hill) won the entire event in all weight classes, so that was cool. I like power lifting overall, I would rather be playing football instead but power lifting is a great way to stay competitive."
So how has the recruiting trail been treating Bain these days? "I still have an offer from Oregon. I'm getting a lot of hand-written mail from Oregon, Notre Dame, Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Michigan, UCLA, USC and Illinois. Those schools have been the most consistent with the hand-written mail."
So is Ryan Bain going to make any spring practices? "I'm planning on checking out a spring practice at Iowa, and I wanted to make it to Notre Dame on April 3rd, but I'm taking my ACT test that day so I'll probably see a practice at Notre Dame around that time. I'm also planning to see a practice at Illinois as well."
