Illinois commitment still a target

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park wide receiver Chris James committed to Illinois over scholarship offers from many others schools back in May. A few schools haven't given up the chase, but don't expect James to change his mind.
"Everyone said to go where you feel comfortable," James said. "I just felt real comfortable at Illinois. And I felt real comfortable with my position coach, Dino Dawson. I feel he can maximize my potential.

"I wanted to get the recruiting process over and concentrate on my senior season. A few schools are still recruiting me like Northern Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, and Iowa. But I think I'm all done.
"I have a 21 on my ACT, so I'm qualified academically.
"I think I'll have a chance to play as a freshman. It depends on my work ethic and how I play."
The 6-foot-0, 177 pound James caught 28 passes for 550 yards, averaging 19.6 per reception during his junior season. James is the No. 4 prospect in the state of Illinois in the Rivals.com player rankings.
