Illinois back takes in camps

ST. LOUIS – Fairview Heights (Ill.) O'Fallon Township running back Duane Bennett had a busy May and now he plans on having a busy June. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back camped this past weekend at both Iowa and Missouri. He came away with positive things to say about both stops.
"I come to these camps to get to know the coaches a lot more," Bennett said after Sunday's one-day Tiger camp in St. Louis.

"I was up at Iowa on Saturday, and I liked what I saw up there. I spent time talking to Lester Erb. He said they're very interested in me.
"I talked to Cornell Ford and Gary Pinkel here today a little bit. Coach Ford said they really couldn't try to recruit me because of the rules, but he was really happy I came out and let the coaches see me workout in person."
In May spent a lot of time on the phone talking to coaches from all over the place.
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Missouri, Northern Illinois and Iowa were the schools that called. He does have two scholarship offers from Missouri and Northern Illinois.
"I'm definitely excited about both offers as they're both from very good schools," Bennett said.
"I want to see what all my options are and probably make a decision later in the year. I feel I need to make sure that I make the right decision and the one that's the best for me."
